 Mission

Abounding Love Ministries, Inc.,  S.T.A.R.S.  mission is to help youth reach their full potential by teaching and training them in every area of their lives.  Through providing educational, enrichment, and recreational activities, the youth will develop more positive self-esteem and academic success.  It is the goal of this program to help youth in the community improve academically, socially, physically and morally.

Goals

*       To promote academic student growth in Language Arts, Reading and Math skills.

*       To develop college-oriented youth

*       To raise the self-awareness levels in participants and boost their confidence by teaching social, coping, and life skills.

*       To provide homework assistance, remediation, and improved scores on LEAP, I-LEAP, and GEE test preparation to all students.

*       To provide recreational and enrichment opportunities for students of all ages.

*       To promote balanced nutrition by providing nutritional hot meals in the summer and nutritional snacks to all participants.

*       Strengthen Families

*       Increase Literacy

*       Provide youth with multiple diversified experiences

*       Provide "Parents Nights" for families

From the Beginning . . . . .

Pastor Albert W. White is the visionary, founder and President of S.T.A.R.S. S.T.A.R.S. has been and still is a very important outreach of Abounding Love Ministries (ALM) and the vision of Pastor White. The members of ALM play a vital part in making this project a success by serving as employees and volunteers. The vision of ALM simply put is to build people in all areas of their lives. S.T.A.R.S. is one way that ALM reaches out to the community and builds up its people. S.T.A.R.S. is one way that ALM reaches out to the community and builds up the people.  S.T.A.R.S. program began in October of 2005 and has served 1000 students since its inception. A second site opened in June of 2008 at Sharon Hills Elementary and has served over 500 students since it began. Over the last four years, we have partnered with several organizations that are assisting us in accomplishing our goals. Our main goal is to provide a safe environment and build the lives of young people by motivating them in all areas of academics, enrichment and recreation.
